The Clifton Quality

"We aim to showcase the best of what the Barossa can produce"

At Clifton our winemaking philosophy is simple; Let the grapes do the talking! The wines produced under the Clifton labels are made using the best vineyards on the uniquely rich Barossa soils. It is through these rich Barossa soils that the famous flavours and dark red colours have been created.

Senior Winemaker Peter Kelly is hands on with his approach to winemaking. Hand selecting each parcel that have been expertly maintained by our experienced vineyard team, guarantees that we are able to start with the best possible fruit. Once the fruit is destemmed it then goes through the process of open fermentation, including twice daily pump overs. Through this process we are able to extract the maximum colours and flavours from the fruit.

Once fermentation is complete we then age our wines in 100% oak for the duration of its maturation process. The oak is expertly selected by Peter to help complement the wine, further enhancing the final product.

Through these simple but complex processes we are able to produce the quality that has become the Clifton range. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
